Some recent feedback from our customers:

I must say, it is a pleasure to deal with a business with such ease. In addition to your adorable clothing, your company is truly a pleasure to deal with. Thank you again for your prompt and courteous response.

Joseph, New York

Just to let you know, I have bought three Cookies (sheep) already from you and they are much loved.  They are the perfect present for new-borns who seem to find them the cosiest toy to share their cots with.

Sian, Hong Kong

I was given, after the birth of my first baby a set of your beautiful clothing in merino and cotton along with a wrap.  I am now due with my second daughter.  My first daughter is very attached to her wrap and so I wanted to purchase another one fror my new baby.  They are wonderful and as this baby is due in June will be wonderful to wrap her in one.

Susan, Auckland

I recently had a baby boy and received one of your gorgeous outfits….the snuggle suit in cornflower blue….it is the most beautiful garment we have received and I absolutely love it.

Jane

Really appreciate your help and can promise, beyond all doubt, that we will be regular customers for the foreseeable future – we’re delighted with the service and products you offer.

Sarah, Australia

This absolutly gorgeous jacket by Nurtured by nature is 100% soft merino wool. The jacket has double layering, this will keep baby very warm all through winter! This jacket is the most adorable piece of clothing for a child I have ever come accross, the soft pink colour is just stunning on anyone's little girl!

Hayden, Lower Hutt

I saw your range very briefly in Selfridges when I was over in the UK last week, but did not get chance to buy anything as I was with some work colleagues!
It's great that I can order them on line.
I used to live in Christchurch & worked as brand manager for Wools of New Zealand when they did their apparel as well as carpet marketing, so I have a real passion for wool!
The quality of your garments is beautiful- congratulations on such a great range!

Karen, UK

HUSH MERINO

We are pleased to announce the release of our brand new HUSH merino range. Currently available online here, or from retailers in the Northern Hemisphere.

Using the finest silkiest merino, keep baby warm but not bulky. Naturally grown merino helps reduce Eczema and other skin allergies. Hush Merino can be worn straight onto the skin because it is super soft and not at all itchy. Merino is a miracle product for babies, and is being embraced by many companies. Our point of difference is our traditional tailoring, unique colour palette, eco friendly corozo buttons and herringbone tie details. Printed with soft cream writing "Nurtured Baby = Nurtured World". This range compliments our luxury fully fashioned merino and is perfect for everyday wear and very affordable.

A Successful trip to Nepal

The 28 Kristen School Students have returned safely from their challenging visit to Nepal. The three major community service projects, which were the focus of the trip, proved to be a resounding success. The first was environmentally focused. The students were to clear the Annapurna trail of rubbish as they trekked and at their evening stops. The students collected many kilograms of litter, which was sorted and deposited, into new bins leaving the trail in a much better state. “ By making a clean-up part of the agenda and mission statement of our trekking group we were not only able to clean up a primary trekking trail and leave it in better shape than we found it, but we also set an excellent example for other trekking groups to follow,” says student Richard Carran.

The next task was at a small school near Shanti Stupa in the foothills beside Pokhara.
The students found the elementary school operated with a very basic structure, staff and facilities. The students spent a day getting stuck in to painting the interior and exterior of the school and, according to my source, painting each other, much to the joy of the school children that found the whole day immense fun. “The children were a real delight, one little girl attached her self to me and became my shadow for the day, she was so beautiful, I didn’t want to leave her,” says student Storm Heaven. The Kristin students were very pleased to be able to donate money raised from a Kristin mufti day and a laptop computer.
The final project was to work with an organisation based in Kathmandu called the Umbrella Foundation. The foundation operates seven orphanages in Kathmandu where 278 children enjoy modern housing and 24 hour supervision by qualified and caring staff. The orphanages seek to relieve the impact of poverty and war on children, rescuing them from destitution and giving them an education, food, clothes and a home.
The Kristin students visited one of the orphanages with money, clothes, including a set of uniforms from one of the Kristin parents and other gifts. They spent the day playing, reading and talking with the children. The following day the foundation rescued 40 children from the remote Rasuwa Langtang district, so they were especially grateful.

Kristin Senior School Nepal ‘08’ Community, Service, Adventure & Challenge

Nurtured by Nature is very proud to be assisting with the senior school trip to Nepal, which left Auckland bound for Kathmandu on Monday 14th April. Nurtured by Nature has supplied all the members of the party with a printed Superfine Merino Jersey The fabric was supplied to us at a huge discount with grateful thanks from Designer Textiles Ltd. We are also sending a pack of children’s clothes, which will be distributed amongst children in need that they will be visiting during their stay in Kathmandu.
Here is the statement from the Humanities department at Kristin School http://www.kristin.school.nz/, which clearly outlines the initiative for the trip.

COMMUNITY SERVICE IN NEPAL
1.    The first is very environmentally friendly and easy-basically clearing the trail-either as we go or at rest stops and evening stops. The rubbish would all be sorted and disposed of properly back in Kathmandu. 10 additional porters will be hired who could then carry 30 kg of rubbish out of the area. We could be responsible for clearing over 300 kg of rubbish from this trail.

Due to the collapse of the Annapurna Conservation Committee and national park regulations during the years of political turmoil in Nepal, there has been renewed deforestation and pollution caused by the independent trekkers who have been the primary tourists over the past 5>6 years.

By making a clean-up part of the agenda and mission statement of the trekking group we will not only be able to clean up a primary trekking trail and leave it in better shape than we found it, but also set an excellent example for other trekking groups to follow.

The Nepalese  owner of Sagamartha Trekking will propose in the next meeting of the trekking agents association of Nepal that EVERY registered trekking company be obligated to do a similar effort.  That of course will be met with opposition because of the increased overhead it requires, but by stepping up and doing it voluntarily, Kristin School group can help set the pace. Previously trail clearing has always been concentrated in the Everest region

2.    A small school near Shanti Stupa in the foothills beside Pokhara needs our help. Once again, because of the virtual collapse of the government during the past years of political turmoil in Nepal, what little the Department of Education did for small village schools dropped off to virtually nothing.

This is a small elementary school that is operating with only the very basic structure, staff and facilities.  Other schools have recently visited it - International School of Dubai and International School of KL and have pledged to do what they can when they return next year.  An international collaboration to get their school facility repaired, upgraded and furnished as soon as possible with the combined effort would be a great target.

A meeting with the Principal has already happened to get a breakdown of their needs and priorities. The suggestions are to do a day of group painting or participate in the construction or repair of some of their buildings. Bill Kite will further report on this in March. Hopefully clothes and some money.

3.    An amazing organisation in Kathmandu – Maiti Nepal that helps girls who are HIV positive after returning to the city after years of horrific experiences in Bombay. Calcutta brothels. Some support for them will be welcome  - money and clothes from the Kristin School community.

Everyone here at Nurtured by Nature gives their full support and whish these fine young people all the best in their endeavours.
If we receive any news from the students during their visit we will give you an update.

We have been doing some research with our retailers and it seems that the more a retailer is dedicated to a brand, the stronger the impact for the customer, resulting in fantastic sales. Beautiful displays, high impact and a commitment to carrying good stock levels ensures the brand is well represented. We have worked with a couple of stores to create a memorable display for their customers.  We have taken photos of various merchandising that we have seen.  If you have a beautiful display of Nurtured by Nature send it in to us and we will load it onto our News Page. It is a great way to let people know about all the beautiful stores Nurtured by Nature is sold in.  Most people love creating beautiful displays but if you are running out of ideas don't hesitate to contact us at head office and we can help you out!!

There a loads of ways to show off Nurtured by Nature - washing lines, antique wardrobes, piles of sheep, wraps draping out of gift boxes, beautiful flowers and of course our product looks so much better on our natural bamboo hangers.

Welcome to our first NEWS entry...  6 March 2008

Hello!...  I guess this will be a lot like a blog for all associated with Nurtured by Nature - including our suppliers and retailers and naturally our online customers.  We are all in the midst of dispatching stock to our retailers around the world. Surrounded in boxes!  Most of our retailers have just received at the beginning of February their new SUMMER stock (Northern Hemisphere) or WINTER stock if you live in Australia or New Zealand.  This is very exciting for we have introduced the fabulous multi colour stripes into our super soft merino range. These work back with all the plain colours to create exciting colour combinations.  The Cocoon cotton range has also been given a lift with the "rugby" stripes.  A lot of our stores carry both ranges throughout the year.  Plus the Cocoon cotton is perfect for the Australian winter as we have a great selection of long sleeves available.

Mid March sees the arrival of our beautiful hand knit range BUD cotton.  This is such a great range for all seasons as it can be layered up or stripped back.  We have delightul rompers, dresses, pinafore sets plus adorable teddy bears and slippers arriving.

Keep an eye out for new entries on our NEWS page.

Kindest regards

Claudia Zinzan
